Interest matching
Add up to 10 interests and get paired with strangers who share them. If nobody matches in a few seconds, we widen the search so you are never stuck waiting.
Instant, peer-to-peer video
Calls connect directly between browsers with WebRTC, so video stays smooth and low-latency. Nothing is recorded or stored on our servers.
Blur-until-you-tap safety
Turn on Safe Mode and every new stranger starts blurred. One tap reveals them, so you decide what you see.
Language filter
Pick a language to meet people you can actually talk to, or leave it on “Any” for the whole world.
Text chat with every call
Chat on the side during video, see when the other person is typing, and send quick emoji reactions.
Keyboard shortcuts
Press Esc twice to skip, Enter to send, M to mute and V to toggle your camera. Fast as the original Omegle, only smoother.
Works on any device
Phones, tablets and desktops in Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Edge. Switch between front and back camera with one tap. Install it as an app.
Report and auto-ban
One click reports and skips abusive users. Repeatedly reported users are automatically banned.
Free and no sign-up
No account, no email, no phone number, no paywall on filters. Open the page and start talking.
HD video that connects in seconds
MeetStrangers uses WebRTC to connect your camera directly to your partner’s browser. That means less delay, sharper video and nothing stored on a server. Choose your camera and microphone, mute at any time, or switch to the back camera on your phone.
Meet people who share your interests
Add interests such as anime, football, language exchange or music before you start. We match you with strangers who share at least one of them and show the common interests when the call starts, so the conversation is never awkward.
Frequently asked questions
Is MeetStrangers free?
Yes. Random video chat, text chat, interest matching and the language filter are all completely free and need no account.
Is this a good Omegle alternative?
Omegle shut down in November 2023. MeetStrangers keeps what people loved about it (one click to meet a random stranger) and adds interest matching, a language filter, a blur-first safety mode, emoji reactions and faster peer-to-peer video.
Do I need to create an account?
No. There is no sign-up, login, email or phone number. You only need to confirm that you are 18 or older and accept the rules.
Are my video chats recorded?
No. Video and audio travel directly between you and your chat partner over an encrypted WebRTC connection. We do not record or store calls or messages.
How does interest matching work?
Type a few interests like “music”, “gaming” or “english”. We look for someone online with at least one shared interest and show you what you have in common. If nobody matches within a few seconds, you are connected to a random stranger instead.
Can I use it on my phone?
Yes. It works in mobile Safari and Chrome on iPhone and Android with no app download. You can also add it to your home screen to use it like an app.
What happens if someone breaks the rules?
Press Report. You are instantly moved to a new stranger and the report is logged. Users who get reported repeatedly are automatically banned.
Why can’t I see the other person?
Check that your browser has camera permission and that no other app is using the camera. On some strict networks peer-to-peer video can be blocked; skipping to a new stranger usually fixes it.
